Meet Mrs. Sara

On a Fall Wednesday afternoon in 1996, nine-year-old Sara walked out of her very first piano lesson and knew exactly what she wanted to become: a piano teacher. By 15, she was already teaching her first students — and she’s never looked back.

That early spark grew into a lifelong pursuit of musical excellence. Sara earned her B.A. in Music, majoring in piano, from Oakland University in 2009. She became State Certified (SCTM) through the Michigan Music Teacher Association in 2012, Nationally Certified (NCTM) through the Music Teacher National Association in 2014, and certified through the internationally recognized Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in 2023. 

A Trusted Voice in Music Education

Mrs. Sara’s commitment to her craft extends far beyond her own studio. Since 2022, she has been serving as President of Vivace Music Club, a National Federation of Music Clubs group.

That early spark grew into a lifelong pursuit of musical excellence. Sara earned her B.A. in Music, with a Piano major, from Oakland University in 2009. She went on to become State Certified (SCTM) through the Michigan Music Teacher Association in 2012, Nationally Certified (NCTM) through the Music Teacher National Association in 2014, and certified through the internationally recognized Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in 2023. 

Also, Mrs. Sara served on the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Detroit Musicians League (MDML) for nine years, holding office as President for seven years.  Her excellence in teaching earned her MDML’s Teacher of the Year award — not once, but twice, in 2016 and 2021 — along with special recognition from the State of Michigan.

Sara believes a great teacher never stops learning and attends several monthly meetings and multiple annual conferences to stay current.
